HUAWEI CLOUD leverages its full-stack technologies to provide stable, secure, reliable, and sustainable public cloud services and hybrid cloud solutions. By the end of 2020, HUAWEI CLOUD has launched 220+ cloud services for 15 industries and 210+ solutions, collaborated with 20,000+ partners, attracted 1.8 million developers, and released more than 4,000 applications in the cloud market.

HUAWEI CLOUD's revenue, paid users, and infrastructure all scaled up rapidly. In Chinese mainland, HUAWEI CLOUD has been serving multiple industries, including more than 30 national ministries, more than 600 government and public utilities, 30 of the top 50 Internet enterprises, and more than 30 large-scale automobile enterprises.

Outside Chinese mainland, HUAWEI CLOUD launched cloud data centers in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong(China), Malaysia, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru, working with partners to provide services in 45 availability zones across 23 regions worldwide. For international enterprises, HUAWEI CLOUD delivers cloud services with consistent performance so that enterprises can provide a user experience that is consistent around the world.

Embracing Cloud Native 2.0 and Accelerating Industry Digital Innovation

Enterprise digital transformations in Asia Pacific are accelerating with the development of the Internet and financial industry to meet new service needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. In their transformations, many enterprises migrate their services to the cloud and become cloud-native.

HUAWEI CLOUD uses Cloud Native 2.0 for a range of industries, including logistics, e-commerce, media, finance (including digital banking, digital insurance, and securities transformations), and insurance, to provide new business, ecosystems, modes, and technologies.

Take the logistics industry as an example. IT department found it difficult to proactively take actions on new business demands. It was costly and slow to deploy services across multiple countries/regions, to procure goods and services, and to aggregate and manage service data. HUAWEI CLOUD helped the Indonesian logistics company J&T Express deploy its service system on the HUAWEI CLOUD nodes in Singapore, which are accessible from all over the world. In countries or regions with heavy service loads, such as Indonesia and Thailand, Cloud Connect is used to provide access during peak hours. With the service deployed in China, elastic scalability allows scale-up, and the Cloud Connect service ensures smooth access.

In the era of 5G, cloud VR is experiencing explosive growth and more interactive innovations. Industry customers pursue ultra-HD and low-latency stable experience, but also face higher cost pressure. HUAWEI CLOUD relies on differentiated technical competitiveness, such as new hardware, device-cloud synergy, and transcoding algorithms, to provide real-time production and distribution networks featuring edge, AI, rendering, and 5G services to support intelligent, real-time, and high-quality interaction. This facilitates innovation and development of the entertainment industry. HUAWEI CLOUD collaborated with their SaaS partner iQiyi, a leading company in the media industry, to help Malaysia's largest media group Media Prima transform the Tonton video service to iQiyi's SaaS platform, which was officially launched in Q1 2021.

Huawei is one of the earliest vendors to invest in cloud-native technologies and the only Asian founding member of Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). HUAWEI CLOUD keeps working in the cloud-native field and ranks first in terms of community code contribution and Maintainer seats in Asia. HUAWEI CLOUD has contributed the first cloud-native intelligent edge project KubeEdge and the batch compute project Volcano, leading the development of cloud-native technologies. Last year, HUAWEI CLOUD became Asia's only company elected to the Istio steering committee.

At Huawei Developer Conference on April 25, Bruno Zhang, HUAWEI CLOUD CTO, released the open-source Karmada project, a cloud-native multi-cloud container orchestration project. Based on the multi-cloud management experience of Huawei, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Xiaohongshu, and China First Automobile Works (FAW), the Karmada project provided detailed, helpful guidance for developers. In the future, the project will be contributed to CNCF.

To accelerate the prosperity of the cloud-native industry, HUAWEI CLOUD Asia Pacific launched the Cloud Native 2.0 Plan themed joint innovation, industry development, community contribution, and comprehensive enablement. HUAWEI CLOUD is dedicated to providing stable, reliable, secure, trustworthy, and sustainable cloud services, building a cloud foundation for this intelligent world, letting services be born and developed in the cloud, and developing benchmarks for Cloud Native 2.0.
