Huawei Cloud Named Leader Among Industrial Internet Platform Vendors in China
Feb 25, 2022
Huawei Cloud has been named as a leader in IDC's latest China Industrial Internet Platform 2021 Vendor Assessment thanks to its leading technologies, clear ecosystem models, and easy-to-use platforms.
As a world-leading cloud service provider, Huawei Cloud integrates its product catalog onto its industrial Internet platform FusionPlant. Aimed at helping industrial enterprises go digital, FusionPlant consists of the industrial IoT platform, Industrial Intelligent Twins, and industrial aPaaS. It is an intelligent decision-making system for agile development on the cloud and stable running at the edge. This enables industry partners to focus on core business to unleash potential value.
Built on the new paradigm of Internet of Everything (IoE), the Huawei Cloud IoT platform provides one-stop operational technology (OT) data governance for data access, cleansing, modeling, analysis, and application. The group-factory cascading architecture enables enterprises to manage the group, factories, and workshops collaboratively. The platform can be deployed on Huawei Cloud, Huawei Cloud Stack, and intelligent edge nodes. It works at the edge as a lightweight local platform that can access production site data using appliances for closed-loop data analytics. Based on this platform, the out-of-the-box digital factory solution enables transparent production, standardized operations, and data-based decision-making in the discrete manufacturing industry, including in machining, injection molding, and electronics. With this solution, manufacturing enterprises accelerate their digital transformation.
Based on Huawei Cloud ModelArts, Industrial Intelligent Twins combine AI with industry expertise in smart coal blending, scrap steel grading, kiln optimization, industrial vision, and plate cutting. These solutions have been adopted by manufacturers for lower costs and higher quality.
So far, FusionPlant has achieved remarkable results in the steel, energy, coking, textile, building materials, electronic information, automobile, equipment manufacturing, and furniture production industries.
In smart mining, Hongliulin Coal Mine digitalized its entire coal mine (people, wind, water, electricity, and coal) by modeling 200 device types and 400 mining services and integrating 35 different OT systems. The benefits of 97.7% digitalization are significant to the subsidiary of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group, including cross-system collaboration and E2E intelligent operations management.
In smart manufacturing, the LED manufacturing base of Shenzhen Leyard Opto-electronic Co., LTD. was able to collaborate across different phases, from order processing, material preparation, production, to quality inspection and delivery, greatly improving production efficiency.
In smart coking, Ansteel's Bayuquan Branch reduced the costs of blended coal by over CNY5 per ton by optimizing coal blending parameters, while guaranteeing product quality. Coke quality predictions are now 95% accurate (up from 90%) due to more precise data analysis and modeling. AI also inspires new ideas and helps share specialized know-how. By combining AI with expert experience, it now takes 1 to 2 minutes to develop coal blending plans instead of 1 to 2 days.
